SULUHRIAU- Sudah terjadi dinamika yang panas sebelum akhirnya terjadi pembantaian 292 buaya oleh 400 warga di Sorong. Warga sempat mempertanyakan izin penangkaran itu.
Penangkaran yang terletak di Jalan Bandara Kelurahan Klamalu Distrik Mariat Kabupaten Sorong itu dikelola oleh PT Mitra Lestari Abadi (MLA).
Setelah kejadian warga diterkam salah satu buaya yang ada di penangkaran, dilakukan mediasi antara PT MLA dan juga warga dari kelompok (Ikatan Keluarga Banyuwangi). Mediasi dilakukan untuk meminta kejelasan mengenai kematian warga bernama Sugito yang diterkam buaya.
"Dalam proses mediasi pihak kerukunan Ikawangi mempertanyakan Surat izin usaha dan administrasi lainnya terkait penakaran buaya," kata Kabid Humas Polda Papua Barat AKBP Harry Supriyono dalam keterannya, Minggu (15/7/2018).
Harry menjelaskan berdasarkan keterangan yang disampaikan Polres Sorong. Dalam pertemuan itu, pihak PT MLA memastikan telah memiliki izin penangkaran.
"Kemudian disepakat akan melakukan pertemuan kembali setelah pemakaman direncanakan hari Senin tanggal 16 juli 2018," ujar Harry.
